April 26th Virtual Live Event

Phew, what a year, right? You and your employees may be feeling worn-out and disconnected. What happens next?

Fortunately Moe Carrick has been (resoundingly) called back by the Membership to facilitate a workshop on developing personal and teams to "regaining our strength" as we emerge from the Pandemic and define our leader roles going forward. This is beyond inspirational, it is an educational and  actionable work session. You will absolutely come away with capabilities you did not have prior to working with Moe and your Leader Peers. We are thankful she is our continued Trusted Partner and are truly excited to have her back at NWONL in 2021.

Join us in our first of three Virtual Live Events for 2021. In our April workshop we will offer engaging ideas for nurse leaders at every level to build your capacity in four essential areas:

  1. Understanding the impact of 2020’s challenges on your people and what to do next.
  2. How to show up and lead for humans by navigating emotional well-being, mental health, and burnout while building resilience.
  3. Fostering accountability and building success in the next 12 months with flexible and hybrid approaches at work.
  4. Learning that Self-Care + Team Care = Healthy, Cohesive People at Work and planning actions you can take now.
Event Specifics
  • April 26th Noon - 2:30 PST
  • Zoom Virtual Event with Interactive Breakout Sessions

Staffing Strategies: A Hiring Blitz? Lessons Learned from the Pandemic

The facility that the leaders work at struggled to recruit/fill open RN positions. Attempting to bring in travelers to fill needs was not successful either. The executive leadership team needed to come up with a strategy to recruit and onboard nurses during the pandemic, quickly and effectively. The leadership team knew that there were new grads in the community that were desiring to get an RN position. The decision was made to set up a virtual new grad hiring event. The event included 3 leadership panels who interviewed 70 candidates. Each candidate was provided a 30 minute interview. The goal was to hire 50 new grad RNs. The event was successful and 45 new grads were hired. Due to the pandemic, the trainings needed to be transitioned from in person trainings to virtual. This presentation will provide how one organization was able to pull off and onboard 45 new grads during a crisis.

Register Now!

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify potential staff recruitment challenges related to the pandemic
  2. Define strategies including virtual hiring process for new-grads
  3. Identify how to strategically implement the hiring process and how to evaluate the outcomes
  4. Summarize process and outcomes
